Pollution in the sea becomes very alarming nowadays that is why the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) has urged local government units within Sarangani Bay to help preserve the protected seascape and to strictly implement environmental protection laws to preserve the biodiversity of Sarangani Bay with the theme: “ Sarangani Bay Protective Seascape”

In support to the advocacy of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, again, the Safety, Health and Environment Committee (SHEC) facilitated a Coastal Clean-up Drive last March 5, 2020 (Friday) 6:00 am -8:00 am at CMPHI compound wharf with a total of 21 participants and were able to gather more or less ten (10) sacks of segregated garbages.

Through the collaboration of the volunteers, wastes such as cigarette butts, plastic bags, food wrappers, glass pieces, bottle caps, straws, and metals were collected. All together, let’s protect our marine life by eliminating wastes in our coasts and beaches and shall make our seas trash free for our future generation.
