
Deep fried tuna tail tossed in the classic sweet and sour sauce that’s rich in vegetables and spices.
Ingredients:
- 1 pk Citra Mina Tuna Tail, sliced
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. group pepper
- 2 cups cooking oil
Sweet & Sour sauce:
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 3 Tbsp. tomato catchup
- 2 tbsp. soy sauce
- 1/4 cup pineapple juice
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 2 tbsp. cornstarch dissolved in t tbsp. water
- Salt and pepper to taste
Vegetable toppings:
- 2 tbsp. cooking oil
- 1/2 carrot, julienne
- 1/2 white onion, julienne
- 1/2 green pepper, julienne
- 1/2 green pepper, julienne
- leeks
Procedure:
Prepare Sauce:
- In a small sauce pan, combine all ingredients, allow to boil.
- When about to boil, lower heat and add cornstarch mixture, mix well until thick.
- Keep warm and set aside.
Prepare Tuna Tail:
- Heat cooking oil for deep frying.
- Season Tuna Tail slices with salt and pepper.
- Dredge in cornstarch, pat excess breading.
- When oil is hot, deep fry tuna tail slices until golden brown.
- Drain in paper towels. Set aside.
Prepare vegetable toppings:
- Heat oil in a separate pan.
- Saute all ingredients except leeks.
- Mix well until coated with oil and fragrant.
Prepare dish by arranging cooked tuna tail slices in a platter, pour over the sauce and top with sauteed vegetables and leeks. Serve hot.
